auramarine methanol fuel supply system

Auramarine provides complete methanol fuel supply systems for ships, covering methanol transfer from bunkering station to engines, precise flow, pressure and temperature control, safety functions and backup fuel systems. Our modular solutions support both newbuild and retrofit projects, helping shipowners adopt methanol as a marine fuel to reduce emissions and meet tightening regulations.

METHANOL - A VIABLE OPTION FOR MARINE DECARBONISATION

Methanol is one of the most viable clean marine fuels to cut greenhouse gas emissions and help shipowners meet global decarbonisation and IMO emissions reduction targets. When produced as green methanol, full carbon neutrality can be achieved.

Compared to conventional marine diesel oil, methanol significantly reduces SOx, NOx and particulate emissions, supporting compliance with EEDI/EEXI and CII requirements as well as local emissions regulations in ports and coastal areas.

Thanks to an existing global logistics and regulatory framework, methanol is a practical and scalable alternative fuel for shipping, available today for both newbuilds and retrofits.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN METHANOL FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM

LFSS delivers fuel from bunker and service tanks with precise pressure and flow control, keeping supply steady even as fuel demand shifts.

GAS AND LEAD DETECTION

Gas and leak detection safeguards the fuel supply system by identifying hazards before they escalate — read more about gas and leak detection.

FUEL VALVE TRAIN

FVT coordinates isolation and control at the heart of the fuel supply system.

BUNKERING

The bunkering management system keeps fuel transfer to the vessel's tanks safe and precisely controlled — read more about bunkering.

FUEL TRANSFER UNIT

The Auramarine Fuel Transfer Unit moves fuel between storage tanks as part of the vessel's fuel supply system.

AUTOMATION AND ESD SYSTEMS

Auramarine's automation and ESD systems provide fast, precise process control and emergency shutdown logic to keep fuel supply operations safe and stable across vessel types.

Methanol Fuel Supply Systems: In-Depth Content for Your Project

Understanding a methanol fuel supply system means understanding how it works as a whole, not just its individual components. We have put together a set of resources to help engineers, designers and shipowners get to grips with the details.

In spring 2026, our webinar series covered the Auramarine methanol fuel supply system in depth, walking through its design and functionality.

For a closer look at system integration, our white paper examines how a methanol fuel supply system connects with other onboard systems, a key consideration in any methanol project.

These resources, along with further content on related topics, are available in our content library.
